DND Fantasy Art Generator Process with DALLE2

I used DALLE2 and Photoshop to create the image above. It’s kinda crazy, but it’s meant for my Tower of Gates book series. The image above started with this one…

Original image from DALLE2 before Outpainting…

As you can see, it started as a fairly simple image. However, I quickly began to use a new feature of OpenAI’s DALLE2 called outpainting that allows you to expand an already generated image, like so…

I gradually added more sections to the image…

… and even more sections!

At this point I should’ve changed the prompt more, but I kept going!

Sometimes, like in the photo below, the AI didn’t do a great job…

So I erased a bit and asked it to do it again!

And DALLE2 filled it in a little better…

So I continued building out the image. Knowing the Tower of Gates is about dimensions to other worlds, the image getting a little crazy didn’t bother me too much.

And I kept going…

… and going… I had to keep erasing occasionally…

But it would always get back in line (mostly!)…

After I finished, I took it in to Photoshop to clean up a bit more… Like the top left corner…

After Content Aware Fill in Photoshop…

Then I added the series nameplate for Tower of Gates…
